There are many different ways to write a story. One of my favorite parts of the creative process is choosing the best genre for a story because it helps me find the most meaningful way to communicate with other people.

Humor

My humor writing has received national prominence as the winner of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists’ award for Best Humor Column in it’s category, and has been featured on popular websites such as the Erma Bombeck Writer’s Workshop, and Scary Mommy. Select articles have also appeared widely in newspapers throughout Connecticut.

Readers may access the entire archive of my humor column’s 200-consecutive-week run (spanning from 2017 through 2021) sorting by date or subject.

Toddler Thinking Humor Writing

Memoir

I have a substantial amount of written memoir material that has been featured in writers’ workshops, conferences, and storytelling shows over the past several years.

I was a regular contributor to RJ Julia’s popular Voices in the Bookstore series prior to Covid and have repurposed several pieces for storytelling shows and various speaking engagements.

Poetry

My poetry combines humor and heart in a very unique way around subjects related to expectant parents, pregnancy, and early childhood.

Drafts of a book-in-progress have been very well received by test audiences. My poems have been published in the Southwestern Poetry Review and in CT Bards’ Poetry Review.
